Principal’s Address
DCW was founded in 1870 as a boarding and day school and has educated many generations of young women in Wicklow. It is a school rich in tradition and talents, handed down to us through the dedication and vision of our predecessors in Dominican education and continue to inspire us today. Dominican College will become a co-educational school, in September 2026. It is a very exciting development and we look forward to welcoming our first cohort of boys and girls in September 2026.
Dominican College is a Catholic voluntary Secondary School under the Trusteeship of Le Cheile and run by the Board of Management. We are inclusive in our intake, comprehensive in our curriculum, encouraging Respect, Mutual Understanding, Peace, Tolerance, Forgiveness and Reconciliation
The Dominican motto “Finding truth through the education of the whole person” is an integral educational philosophy in our school. Dominican College continuously strives for improvement in academic, social and physical excellence for every student, while developing the individual talents of each student.
We have a superb, dedicated, enthusiastic teaching team where the focus is always on the holistic development of every student to reach to their potential. There are a large number of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities in which all students are encouraged to participate. Student Leadership and Student Voice are very important in the daily life of the school.
We work in very close partnership with parents in order to help students to realise their potential and enjoy their experience as a student in Dominican College, Wicklow. We hope you enjoy looking at our website.
